Modernizing Systems
Cash America.
Overview.
EXCEL helped Cash America to modernize their Point of Sale systems at 250 store locations, while simultaneously (and safely) disposing of outdated terminals and servers.
Situation.
Cash America International, Inc., a specialty financial services enterprise with 800 store locations, marketing offices, and regional offices across the continental United States, launched a Hardware Upgrade Project to modernize the Point of Sale system at 250 store locations. This upgrade required replacing existing Point Of Sale (POS) terminals with Dell Optiplex 650, 750, or 850 workstations, relocating servers, testing the installation and disposing of the obsolete workstations.
Results.
Cash America selected EXCEL to manage the Hardware Upgrade Project which consisted of three main activities: conducting site surveys, performing point of sale hardware installs (including imaging of new and existing equipment) and properly disposing of company assets. The results of the project were as follows:
- Installed and tested 185 new file servers and roughly the same number of workstations at 250 locations
- Upgraded all stores within budget, on time, and without impacting operations
Upon completion of 250 locations, Cash America selected EXCEL to manage the upgrade of 483 additional locations nationwide.
